Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Start Date: Term 1, 2027
- Location: Melbourne's South-East
- Subject Areas / Year Levels: Science / Chemistry, Years 7–12 incl. VCE
- Salary:$78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
- Interview Timeline: Immediate interview availability for shortlisted applicants
- Teach Chemistry at VCE Units 1–4 level, and contribute to Science teaching across middle and senior secondary year levels as required.
- Plan and deliver laboratory-based and theoretical programs that build student confidence in scientific investigation, data analysis and evidence-based reasoning.
- Develop and assess SACs and practical tasks in alignment with current VCAA Chemistry study design requirements.
- Work collaboratively within the Science faculty to share resources, review outcomes data and contribute to curriculum development and renewal.
- Foster a classroom environment that is safe, stimulating and inclusive, maintaining high expectations while supporting students of varied abilities and backgrounds.
You're a qualified teacher:
- Hold or are eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Hold or are eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Have an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Bring creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintain high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
