Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Position of Leadership: POL 2 (tenure 2027-2029)
- Start Date: Term 1, 2027 (January)
- Location: Melbourne's Western Suburbs
- Year Level Cohort: Year 8
- Reports to: Director of Learning and Growth — Learning Diversity
- Salary: $85,915 – $124,389 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
- Support teachers in implementing targeted strategies and classroom adjustments for students with additional needs across the Year 8 cohort
- Act as case manager for identified students, leading Program Support Group meetings with families and maintaining accurate Personalised Learning Plans and NCCD records
- Collaborate with teachers, Learning Support Officers and the Director of Learning and Growth: Learning Diversity to ensure comprehensive, up-to-date information about students with additional needs is accessible to all staff
- Assist students with significant disabilities in scribing, reading, mobility and examination arrangements in line with special provision requirements
- Interpret and act upon assessments conducted by professionals including Educational Psychologists and Speech Pathologists, providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff
- Participate in the college's coaching and observation programs, actively promoting inclusive practices and Learning Diversity at college events including Open Days and Expo
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
