About the School
This is a specialist education setting in regional Victoria where small class sizes, Allied Health integration and deeply personalised learning are the norm rather than the exception. With intentionally small class sizes and a richly resourced multidisciplinary team including teaching staff, education support officers and Allied Health professionals such as Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and a Social Worker. The environment is built for educators who want to work closely with students and genuinely see the impact of their work every day.
Learning is grounded in the Victorian Curriculum and differentiated to meet each student's individual needs, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy in the junior years and a transition-focused program in the senior years that includes work experience, TAFE partnerships and community participation. Every student has a personalised learning plan developed in genuine partnership with families and relevant professionals.

Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Start Date: Term 3, 2026 (August)
- Location: Regional Victoria
- Year Levels: Junior, Middle or Senior School
- Salary: $78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum across levels A-D, adapted to meet the diverse and individual learning needs of students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities
- Develop, implement and review personalised learning plans in collaboration with families, Allied Health professionals, education support officers and relevant external agencies
- Apply evidence-based teaching strategies including explicit instruction, differentiation and student data analysis to drive individual learning outcomes across literacy and numeracy
- Create a safe, supportive and positive classroom environment that fosters student voice, agency and independence in line with the school's whole-school instructional model
- Provide personal care support as required, maintaining the dignity, safety and wellbeing of all students in line with school policies and procedures
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families and the broader school community, contributing to the establishment of the new Benalla Campus community from the ground up
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
