AndFound Educate is currently partnering with a specialist Victorian Government school in regional Victoria to appoint a Classroom Teacher — VET Barbering.
This is a unique and deeply meaningful opportunity to teach in a specialist setting serving secondary-aged young men in structured environments, where flexibility, resilience, and genuine care make a real difference every day.
You will deliver individually tailored education in small-group settings, teach the Victorian Curriculum alongside VET certificates, mentor young people preparing for community transition, and work within a deeply supportive, trauma-informed team culture in a regional community setting.
About the School
This specialist Victorian Government school operates year-round across three campuses, educating up to 300 young people on any given day. This regional campus serves secondary-aged young men in a structured, supportive environment, delivering the Victorian Curriculum, Senior Secondary Certificates (VPC, VCE VM), and vocational training in nine trades.
This is not a conventional teaching role - it requires adaptability, emotional resilience, and a genuine belief in every young person's potential. Teachers work alongside wellbeing teams in a deeply supportive culture.
Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Start Date: Term 3, 2026 (July)
- Location: Regional Victoria
- Subject Areas: VET Barbering
- Salary: $78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
- Plan and deliver engaging VET Barbering lessons in small-group settings aligned to Victorian Curriculum and VET accreditation requirements
- Apply trauma-informed and applied learning principles to meet the individual needs of students in structured environments
- Support students in developing practical barbering skills and industry readiness as a pathway to further education, employment and community transition
- Maintain accurate student records, assessments and reporting in line with school and Department of Education requirements
- Collaborate with wellbeing teams, community transition partners and colleagues on student support and curriculum planning
- Contribute to a positive, resilient and deeply supportive professional culture across the campus
You are a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
